Winning the Wars: New Era Gaming
Have
you turned on your TV recently? Have you been on the Internet and seen the ads
for the PS4 and the Xbox One? Recently Microsoft and Sony both set out to
promote there next generation gaming systems at a massive press conference
named E3. Throughout the whole press conference Sony and Microsoft feed people
what they wanted to hear. They both told the audience how extravagant the
systems were, how great the new gameplay will be, and how much the cost will
be. Every different gamer had their own opinion about which game system would
be better than the other and which would sell more units. My opinion is that
the PS4 will be the out right winner of the two. So the purpose of this essay
is to get the opinions of the consumers of the two systems, people that write
forums and Vlogs about the two systems, and finally I will get information from
the E3 press conference. So I will make a judgment after closely evaluating the
information that I will gather up and state who will win the gaming wars. Will
it be PS4 or Xbox One.
First I want to dig in deep into the
two systems and see which one has the slight edge over its predecessor. After reviewing a few websites discussing how
the two systems were made I will look into what the consumers will have to say
about the systems. I feel that interviewing people with a PS3 or a Xbox 360
will help because it is always a war now between the two to see which is
better. So if I could find somebody that has a Xbox 360 that wants to make the
switch over to Sony, that would make more sense why Sony would win this war.
Then after talking to a few people I will go on the internet and watch peoples
Vlogs that get paid to compare game systems and get their input on which will
out sell one another. Then finally I will watch the E3 conference to see the crowd’s
responses to the two systems to further state which system would win.
To
start my research I will look at interview people to get there input on which
system will be better. Then I will use websites like Youtube.com, Ign.com,
Gamespot.com, and E3.com to back up the assumptions I will make to claim the
winner.

Quan, your research proposal is very well written. I like it a lot. Good work.
ReplyDeleteI think you forgot a closing "significance" section to tell why you think this topic is significant and how it will impact your audience or why you are writing it. Overall, I thought it was very good.
Benjamin is right to question why you haven't shown us why this study is important. To poke at that, who will be arguing over this in five or ten years? Could be that the gaming community will still be thinking about this. Your study is very timely, and it could be nice for your audience to see this synthesis of reviews in an easily accessible report so that they can decide and use your opinion of the winner as a basis for their decision. That, to me, is the significance of your research. You are helping the consumer make an informed decision. I like your methods because they seem appropriate. You will want to consider what the end product will look like though.
